Why I love Winter in Northern Virginia
Why I love Winter in Northern Virginia
Winter is among one of my favorite seasons. Unlike Summer with its insects, Spring with its rains and Autumn with its inability to be resolutely chilly, Winter is well-defined and beautiful in its holistic nature.
The winter in this region makes it magical. In the years since I have been in this region, I have seen the concrete jungle of Washington cross into many areas that were once decaying rural cultures that became rationalized by Information technology.
This is a region known for more its corporations than its natural beauty. However, when it is winter, there is beauty that comes here that makes this rather business-oriented place have some hint of the rural charm it once had in the area.
The beauty of Northern Cardinal nested on a branch in a Virginia Winter is amazing sight to see.
Many people in our region tend to ignore nature. It is simply a place to pave over with cars and trucks. However, there is still beauty around if you are willing to look and explore.
In this age, exploring with wanderlust is not very common. People who tend to walk outside are either poor or exercising or walking their pets. I enjoy just walking for the sake of it, not to accomplish any goals but to enjoy the bounty of this elegant planet we have here.
There is nothing more beautiful than a blanket of snow.
